Archive for the ‘Calendar Companion Features’ Category

We often get the question from website administrators on how they can frame their Calendar Companion ‘calendar’ into their existing website. This is a really nice feature and a great way to enhance any church website.

Follow these two simple steps if you are looking to ’FRAME’ your calendar online within your existing website:

The first step is to log into your Calendar Companion website, go to the Settings page, set the “Site Framed” value to “Yes” and click “Update”. This action takes away the header of Calendar Companion so that it won’t clash with your website.

The second step will require the help of the administrator of your website. A webpage will need to be setup within your website that makes use of the HTML IFRAME (Inline Frame) tag. This allows one website to display content that exists within another website. As an example, if the address to your online Calendar Companion ‘calendar’ is http://www.calendarcompanion.com/777, then your website would need a page that contains the code:

<iframe src=”http://www.calendarcompanion.com/777” width=”100%” scrolling=”auto” frameborder=”no” height=”400px” />

Feel free to adjust the width and height of the iframe to suit the layout of your website. An example of a framed online Calendar Companion ‘calendar’ in action can be found here.

Calendar Companion customers can easily integrate their calendar with Sermon Companion.

Here’s how it works: If you are a church that is utilizing both the Calendar Companion and Sermon Companion services, then you can connect your sermons to your calendar so that people can easily find the sermon that was preached on the specific date in the calendar that they are looking for. An audio icon will appear on all days that have corresponding sermons. Next, click on the audio icon and the sermon will open in a new window. Then, click play and get instant access to your audio sermons, directly from Calendar Companion.
